20. Encounters

Next steps are still unfolding and the delays we’re experiencing are providing a gap to re-group our current thoughts. We’ve been informed the medical team seem to have different opinions about their recommendations, with polarised views on what should happen now. Add the conflict of advice from natural remedies into the mix and we are left with a boiling pot of confusion. Over the years I’ve learned (the hard way!), never to make big decisions from a place of emotion - that our souls need to be dialled down to make way for a higher wisdom to be received. From this place of rest, spirit can be heard, clearer than any foggy whirlwind of responses in the natural.

Pure love breaks through everything. Every hurt, every injustice, every trauma, every sadness and every insecurity. After a teary day on Friday, letting out all emotion and experiencing the embrace of God’s tenderness was the key to moving forward - through it, the door to calm was unlocked and this tranquillity stilled my mind, my will and my emotions. Perfect love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18). Saturday arrived and with it, a spring of joy in my heart.

This joy released worship and from this place came the most incredible spiritual encounters, which intermittently repeated through-out the weekend. Message after message, reinforcing the truth of God’s authority, sovereignty and power over all of this, whatever our journey through it ends up being. Whether we take the orthodox route, the alternative route or a combination of both, my awareness of the divine order of dominion was reset, first in my spirt and then in my soul.

Proverbs 3:6, brought me right back to basics. ‘Submit all your ways and the Lord will direct your steps’. Surrendering my version of when and how I am healed and letting go of trying to work out which route is right, enabled me to fall into the trust that God will illuminate our path. Instead of worrying my way to a conclusion about next steps, this is replaced with a resurgence of faith that we will be shown. I know what God reveals will lead us right into the victory He has already secured.

Today we have a meeting with the surgical team to understand more about the clinical options and recommendations. This will be added to all the other research we are exploring. But a massive shift has taken place. Instead of processing all this due diligence through the lens of fear, I’ve been empowered to process it from a place strength, authority and discernment. All because my soul has got out of the way. The spirit is once again leading, and it’s this that brings a peace beyond measure. With it comes an excitement – what will the mysterious plan of God reveal? All my encounters tell me one thing is for sure – it will be good, in fact, it will be extraordinarily good. Because my friends, He is an extraordinary God.

‘So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit—steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.’                                                                              1 Peter 1:13 AMP

‘If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind’.

James 1:5 AMP
